Welcome

We are delighted that you would like to learn about the Major Reading Blount Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). Furthermore, we are always honored to share information with those who are interested in the DAR, and we continually look for new opportunities to promote DAR objectives within our local community. Our members are committed to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We enjoy our volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of our community, state, and country.

In addition to our regular meetings, our chapter sponsors educational awards and scholarships. We support Crossnore Communities for Children and volunteer with our veterans. We honor our American Revolutionary War ancestors, recognize outstanding citizens in our area, and sponsor history essays.

Each member is a direct descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War.

Our chapter supports a variety of veteran and active-duty military projects including Pamlico Rose Institute, Support our Troops, the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Greenville, and the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Chapter members work to clean and preserve gravestones and support local historical sites.

Our chapter supports the DAR supported schools including Crossnore Communities for Children in North Carolina. We donated over 400 books to the Beaufort-Hyde Partnership for Children.
